Nestled 30 km from Dhurma city, near the northeastern outskirts of Riyadh, the PP13 Power Plant project emerges as a modern marvel in the field of energy. With the collaboration of industry giants such as SEC, GAMA, and Abdulla Nass, this project, completed in 2018, epitomizes the synergy of expertise and cutting-edge technology. Alpha Technical Services (ATS) played a pivotal role in the installation of Power Island ME&I and equipment, marking a significant achievement in their portfolio and contributing to the region's energy sustainability.
The PP13 Power Plant, designed as a combined cycle facility, is a beacon of efficiency and innovation. It is comprised of two power blocks, each featuring a dynamic configuration of gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam turbines, and air-cooled condensers. This design not only maximizes energy production but also underscores a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Power Generation Configuration: Each power block consists of 3 Gas Turbines (GTGs), 3 Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), 1 Steam Turbine Generator (STG), and 1 Air Cooled Condenser (ACC), orchestrating a harmonious balance between power output and environmental stewardship.
Total Output: The facility boasts 6 GTGs, 6 HRSGs, 2 STGs, and 2 ACCs, culminating in a formidable power generating capacity of 1850 MW.
Alpha Technical Services demonstrated unparalleled expertise in installing essential components for the power blocks and various non-process buildings, reinforcing the plant's operational integrity and efficiency.
Electrical Systems: ATS was responsible for the seamless installation of transformers, ensuring reliable power distribution across the facility.
Instrumentation and Control: The meticulous installation of instruments by ATS enhanced the plant's operational precision and safety.
Infrastructure Support: The project encompassed the installation of cable trays, conduits, cable pulling, UPS & batteries, an advanced illumination system, and a robust earthing and lightning protection system, laying the groundwork for a fail-safe operational environment.
The completion of the PP13 Power Plant, with Alpha Technical Services at the helm of critical installation services, represents a significant stride towards meeting the growing energy demands of Riyadh and beyond.
